Leaked Verizon Document Reveals Key Smartphone, Tablet Launch Dates

September and October could be big months for Verizon Wireless, as it launches several high-end smartphones and new tablets, according to a leaked document.
IGN posted a screenshot of what it claims is a leaked Verizon planning document it received from a tipster. Release dates for Motorola's Droid Bionic, Samsung's Galaxy S II and LG's Revolution are included in the spreadsheet, along with hints of a new Samsung Galaxy Tab.
One reason to be skeptical of the report: Verizon usually launches new phones on Thursdays, but most of the launch dates listed in this document are Mondays. Of course, even if the leak is legitimate, rumored release dates are subject to change until Verizon or hardware makers give the official word. With that in mind, here are some highlights from this supposedly leaked document:
Droid Bionic release date: First announced in January, this dual-core, 4.3-inch display Android smartphone from Motorola has been plagued by delays. Rumors suggest that Motorola redesigned the hardware, and is putting Android 2.3 on board, instead of Android 2.2 as originally announced. The high-end handset will launch Sept. 8, according to IGN.
LG Revolution 2: Not much is known about this supposed follow-up to LG's Revolution, a 4G LTE Android phone with a 4.3-inch display, but according to the document the LG Revolution 2 will launch Oct. 20. I'm guessing it'll have a dual-core processor and Android 2.3, and hopefully LG will ditch its clunky custom user interface.
HTC Vigor: Reportedly a replacement for HTC's 4G LTE Thunderbolt, the Vigor is rumored to have a 1.5 GHz processor and a 720p resolution display. Per the leak, the Vigor's launch is scheduled for Sept. 29.
Samsung Galaxy S II (Stratosphere) release date: Another highly anticipated dual-core Android phone with a 4.3-inch display, the Samsung Galaxy S II launched overseas in May to rave reviews, with no U.S. release date in sight. Finally, a Samsung executive said last month that the Galaxy S II will hit U.S. wireless carriers in August. Verizon's version, dubbed the Stratosphere, will reportedly land Sept. 8, according to the document. 4G Samsung Galaxy Tab: Not to be confused with the 4G Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which launched last month, the Galaxy Tab mentioned in the document is probably an update to Samsung's original 7-inch tablet. A previous rumor has suggested a dual-core processor for the new Tab, but no Honeycomb -- just the smartphone-optimized Android 2.3.
Xoom 4G Upgrade: Motorola and Verizon originally said that the Xoom tablet would get an upgrade to 4G LTE connectivity in the spring. Now, the switch is reportedly pegged for Sept. 8.
