Facebook is Planning To Launch iPad App And Project Spartan Soon!!!!

Reports says that Facebook is gearing up to launch the much awaited iPad app and Project Spatran as early as next week and it could even be at the iPhone 5 launch event on October 4th.Project Spartan is an HTML5 based mobile application platform for Facebook apps, which would work on mobile Safari.

Facebook’s iPad app is about to launch. That too has been ready to go for a while now, but it has been held up by some internal back-and-forth between Apple and Facebook. And Project Spartan has been waiting on that iPad app. Earlier this week, Mashable reported that Facebook’s iPad app would launch at Apple’s iPhone event this coming Tuesday.

For what it’s worth, we’ve heard Facebook is actually planning to launch the iPad app at their own iPad/Spartan event on Monday. But they’re still discussing all of this with Apple. And Apple has been well known to change things at the last second. It is possible that they want Facebook to launch this on stage at their event to showcase some of the new HTML5 capabilities of iOS 5 (which will also be formally unveiled at the event).
Facebook's widely anticipated iPad app, whose code had been bundled along with the Facebook for iPhone app and later pulled out, was apparently almost ready back in May this year. But due to Facebook's decision to indefinitely hold the release of the now-fully-complete app, Jeff Verkoeyen - a lead developer of the iPad app quit the company in frustration and has joined Google.

TechCrunch reports that it is still not confirmed if Facebook with launch iPad app and Project Spartan at the event or Facebook will launch it at its own event on Monday, but it has Apple's blessings.TechCrunch has also discovered the following screenshots of Project Spartan on Facebook's mobile developer page, which has available briefly and has since been taken down:

Siegler goes on to add:
Spartan has also been delayed a few times. More recently, we’ve been hearing a lot about the collaboration between Apple and Facebook on the project. The two (Facebook iPad and Facebook Spartan) are now joined at the hip, it seems. One will not launch without the other. And apparently, all of this is with Apple’s blessing.

But make no mistake, the relationship between the two companies is tenuous at best. Both know that they’d probably be better of working together, but both also believe that they don’t actually need each other. Hence, the dancing we’ve been seeing and hearing about. The two are frenemies. But the launch of Google+ has made one common enemy very clear…

We've heard that Facebook is using the iPad app as leverage in their dealings with Apple for their ambitious mobile application platform project, knowing that a large portion of iPad users are waiting eagerly for the app.It looks like next week is going to be a very eventful one for iPhone and iPad users.
